Job Title
The City of Greenacres offers:
Minimum: $19.77 per hour Six (6) months of additional experience over minimum requirements: $20.37 per hour One (1) year of additional experience over minimum requirements: $20.97 per hour Salary is based on FY27 which is effective 10-1-26

- Must have graduated from an accredited high school or have obtained a State of Florida G.E.D. certificate or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Must submit to a post-offer physical examination, drug screen and Level II fingerprinting. The offer of employment will be contingent on the results of testing and/or examinations.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
Patrols city parks and recreation facilities to verify authorized facility rentals, prepares facility prior to rental, enforces park rules and regulations; performs basic maintenance and custodial services of parks and public facilities, and assists with event set-up and break down.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Patrols City parks and facilities, on foot and/or by vehicle, to enforce rentals, park rules codes and regulations to confirm rental compliance, prevent damage, destruction and theft to recreation grounds and facilities.
- Cleans and restocks park restrooms daily.
- Verifies authorized pavilion, field and facility renters have a valid permit, and calls Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to assist in removing unauthorized users.
- Issues Small Group Field Use Permit.
- Greets renters at the beginning of rental period, inspects rental facilities at the end, and signs off on security deposit refund form.
- Opens and closes park gates, restrooms, athletic field gates and concession stands, as required.
- Cancels field lighting and rentals as required for no shows or rainouts.
- Inspects City parks and facilities (field lighting, athletic equipment, playground) periodically; corrects and reports problems and deficiencies to Supervisors.
- Assists with facility and park event prep, set-up and breakdown, as required.
- Collects trash, vegetation debris, and performs basic custodial duties (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.) at all assigned parks and facilities.
- Assists with cleaning park restrooms and keeping soap and toilet paper restocked.
- Cleans park concession stands for cobwebs, dusting, at Freedom Park (2), Ira Van Bullock and Community Park, monthly.
- Inspects city vehicle for damages, keeps vehicles clean and sanitizes it after use.
- Inspects and refills Little Free Libraries in city parks and other city locations.
- Applies general household chemicals (i.e., degreasers, insecticides) as needed.
- Follows safety rules and regulations of the City and the Department including utilization of personal protection equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Basic customer service skills.
- Basic custodial functions.
- Occupational hazards, environmental regulations and compliance thereof, and safety precautions of the trade.
- Proper use and operation of hand and power tools.
- Basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other programs.
Ability to:
- Work independently, effectively and safely on assignments with minimal supervision.
- Utilize common maintenance, custodial and cleaning equipment.
- Work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor.
- Maintain high standards for professional and ethical conduct.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public agencies, vendors and the general public.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Follow safety rules and regulations of the Department and the City.

High School Diploma/GED. Possess and maintains a valid Florida Driver's License. Parks and public facility maintenance preferred.
