Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance

Job Summary and QualificationsThe Maintenance Technician works under the direction of the HCA Maintenance Manager. The Technician I will support the distribution center and operations by performing maintenance and repairs of mechanical conveyors, troubleshooting automated equipment systems, and general maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, heating and cooling, and other building systems. Ideal candidates will have experience in industrial and general maintenance with knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and basic hand and power tools.
Responsibilities- Working knowledge of repair and maintenance procedures for equipment in a distribution center environment
- Knowledge of automation and controls systems
- Knowledge of PLC system software and hardware
- Working knowledge of electrical single and triple phase power
- Support replacing rooftop air conditioning filters, light bulbs, clogged drains, and environmental issues related to storms; assemble furniture, equipment, and general electrical repairs
- Mechanical knowledge of heating and cooling systems, inspections, and general repairs
- Meet all required deadlines related to preventative maintenance and work order service requests
- Assess needs for repair and maintenance of the facility, conveyors, and automation components through surveying and receiving requests from various departments (e.g., administrative, production, facilities, and visitors)
- Conduct periodic quality checks on facility, conveyor, automation systems, and components
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Maintain appearances and functionality of all areas
- High School Graduate or GED equivalency or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 1-2 years of relevant maintenance work experience in a healthcare setting, required
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, required
- Bi‑lingual Spanish speaker a plus, preferred
- Certificate in a building trade, building maintenance technology, or relevant field, preferred
