Job Summary
Working foreman in Energy Delivery Substations Operations, responsible for preparing metal surfaces per required coating specifications in Electrical Substations.
Responsibilities- Prepare metal surfaces per required coating specifications.
- Work in Electrical Substations and on energized equipment such as transformers, voltage regulators, oil circuit breakers, control buildings, etc.
- Use sanding, high‑pressure water blast, steam cleaners, scrapers, and air‑driven needle scalers as needed.
- Scrape and prime various surfaces, apply bonding coat to masonry surfaces, patch and caulk cracks.
- Apply paints, lacquers, varnishes, sealers, alkyd enamels, epoxies, silicones and polyurethane coatings.
- Pay attention to V.O.C. regulations, fugitive dust, and environmental constraints dealing with hazardous waste generation.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate hours as necessary for efficient operation of the department.
- Position is mission critical.
- High school diploma from an accredited school or its equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience as an industrial painter or three (3) years of experience in journey level painting.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides necessary knowledge, skills and abilities and other competencies for success.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state of Florida driver's license.
- Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through Docu Sign.
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must have enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions.
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job‑related noises.
- Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
