Position Summary:Performs maintenance and custodial duties. In addition, ensures and reinforces facilities safety. Involved in building repairs and equipment repairs at multiple locations. Assists in sanitation control and checks for safety hazards. Works with community service workers and approved vendors.
Essential Functions:Specific Duties :
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including repairing/replacing faucets, toilet components, clogged drains, minor leaks, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting, such as replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, bulbs, and identifying electrical issues that require a licensed vendor.
- Complete drywall and wall repairs, including patching holes, repairing minor damage, preparing surfaces, and touch-up painting.
- Repair and install facility hardware, including doors, locks, hinges, handles, closers, shelving, dispensers, and other building fixtures.
- Troubleshoot facility equipment and mechanical issues to identify the likely cause of a problem, complete minor repairs when appropriate, and determine when professional service is required.
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and building systems, including routine inspections, adjustments, lubrication, cleaning, and replacement of worn components to help prevent equipment failure.
