** HIRING RANGE: $18.50 - $21.00/hour
** Could be placed in any of the positions listed. Hours may vary based on city's needs. Typical Hours Range – 40 hours/wk, Mon-Thurs 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Fri 6:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. With some weekend work lasting 2-3 hours.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Background check required.
Items to be lifted may include, but are not limited to: bags of fertilizer, bags of seed, paint drums, tables, tree limbs.
** Carrying, Maneuvering, Pushing and Pulling:
** May manipulate (push, pull or carry) items weighing excess of 75 pounds with assistance as described; bleachers, picnic tables, mower decks. Must be able to manipulate items weighing in excess of 75 pounds where manipulation should only be performed using mechanical or second person lift assistance: (jumping jack compactor, boulders, sander plates, concrete pipe and inlet grates). Must be able to carry items distances of plus/minus 25 feet.
Items to be carried include; examples such as raking and shoveling asphalt, electric tools, rocks/drainage maintenance, pull swing gate, and manhole covers, pushes boxes, pulls wire, pulls or drags tree limbs.
** Heavy Work:
** Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Body Positions Required positions may include awkward postures.
** Climbing:
** Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and king of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
** Balancing:
** Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
** Stooping:
** Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
** Kneeling:
** Bending legs forward by bending leg and spine.
** Crouching:
** Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
** Crawling:
** Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
** Reaching:
** Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
** Standing:
** Particularly for sustained periods of time. Stands and moves about on both even and uneven terrain. Sits to operate equipment and drive between jobs. Drives to and between sites, which includes entering and exiting a vehicle multiple times per day.
** Walking:
** Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
** Fingering:
** Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Must be able to handle and assemble small delicate parts.
** Grasping:
** Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palms. Uses torque to manipulate equipment and valves.
** Feeling:
** Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching the skin, particularly that of fingertips.
** Repetitive Motions:
** Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Motions can be repetitive, e.g., such as when raking and/or shoveling.
** Hearing:
** Must be able to hear and respond to in person and/or telephone communication. Must also hear radio transmissions and back-up alarms. Must be able to distinguish audible signals from equipment.
** Vision:
