THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION (9 MONTHS OR LESS) - PAYING $19.00-$20.00 PER HOUR. EMPLOYMENT STARTS 05/01/2026 THROUGH 10/31/2026. This posting is for both Lead and Non Lead Inspector positions. ResponsibilitiesPerform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Taylor Park Reservoir.
Non Lead Inspector
- Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities at Taylor Park Reservoir near Almont, Colorado. Work may be done independently or in pairs to inspect boats launching and leaving the reservoir, with respect to invasive species such as zebra/quagga mussels.
- Provide public outreach on the aquatic invasive species topic by distributing printed material to visitors.
- The position reports directly to the boat ramp. Boat inspection training will be provided. Early morning, evening, and weekend work required.
Lead Inspector
- Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities at Taylor Park Reservoir near Almont, Colorado. Ramp lead boat inspector is responsible for providing on the job training to inspection staff, creating schedules and ensuring all shifts are covered during operational hours, collecting and verifying accurate timekeeping for payroll, and collaborating with the area lead to resolve staff and customer challenges.
- Recommend hiring/firing of employees to area lead. Ensure staff follow standardized protocols, ensure data entry is accurate, maintain inventory of supplies, perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on power washer/decontamination unit, and provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species.
- Early morning, evening, and weekend work is required.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR LEAD
- High school diploma.
- Good driving record and ability to work weekends, early morning and late evenings.
- Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines and/or heavy equipment preferred.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent customer service experience working with the public desired.
- Reliable and timely.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR NON LEAD
- High school diploma.

Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences or comparable work experience. Employee may be asked to camp in rustic settings and must provide own camping equipment and gear when performing biological field work.
