JOB SUMMARY

The Action Center is leading an exciting and transformative initiative: the renovation and repurposing of a former Lakewood public school campus into The Daylight Collective, a collaborative community hub where multiple mission aligned organizations can operate under one roof. The vision is simple but powerful- design services around the needs of families, making it easier to access support, reducing barriers, and creating a more seamless experience for those seeking help.

Requirements DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and supervise a four-person facilities team responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of a 110,000-square-foot multi-tenant facility.

Facility Operations & Maintenance
  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all Agency facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Lead the facilities team as the building owner/operator to deliver responsive and reliable facilities support to building tenants.
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies to minimize operational disruptions and extend asset life.
  • Coordinate repairs, inspections, and building system upgrades.
  • Ensure regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, building structures, elevators, boilers, and other facility infrastructure.
  • Manage janitorial, landscaping, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other contracted support services.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building, fire, health, ADA, OSHA, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.
  • Manage regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain records related to permits, inspections, and compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for the reliable operation of all safety and access control systems.
Budget & Financial Management
  • Develop and manage facilities budgets, including maintenance, utilities, repairs, and capital expenditures.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Assist with long‑term facility planning and capital improvement forecasting.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership and board committees.
Support Services Management
  • Solicit bids and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors and other support services such as facilities volunteers to build a comprehensive network of facilities support resources.
Project Management
  • Lead facility renovation, relocation, and construction projects.
  • Coordinate timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Staff Leadership
  • Supervise facilities, safety and security staff.
  • Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety, responsiveness, accountability, and customer service within the facilities team.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development for team members to ensure high performance and compliance with safety standards.
Sustainability & Asset Management
  • Collaborate with Agency leadership to align facilities operations with organizational goals and growth plans.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, furniture, and facility assets.
  • Recommend improvements to optimize facility use and longevity.
  • Responsible for acquisition and disposition of agency physical assets.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of facilities or operations management experience.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, educational, healthcare, or community-based organization preferred.
  • Supervisory and project management experience required.
