Maintenance Technician

TFE Properties, LLC is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician with prior experience for our Hampshire Crossing location in Lakewood, New Jersey. The candidate must be well organized, self‑motivated and adaptable to changing situations. Must be able to perform all types of maintenance duties for our residents. Valid driver license required, basic computer skills a plus. Full‑time position that requires weekends and must be flexible with the work week.

• Perform plumbing, electrical, appliance and mechanical maintenance.
• Fulfill work orders in maintaining the exterior and all common areas of the property (lighting, walkways, fitness centers, storage, parking, landscaping, etc.).
• Prepare units for move‑in, including but not limited to punch‑out lists, painting, cleaning and any other necessary work.
• Minor cleaning of work and common areas as needed.
• Maintain a courteous and helpful attitude to residents, potential residents and vendors.
• Respond to resident requests in a prompt and courteous manner.

• This position offers a starting rate that ranges from $20 to $25 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
• Full‑time employees will have the opportunity to earn paid time‑off and join the company’s health, dental, vision, and retirement plans (once qualified).

• Must be willing to work after hours and respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Understand and work within the guidelines of all federal and state laws regarding Fair Housing and multi‑family housing, OSHA, Workers Compensation, and Federal Wage and Hour Act.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic maintenance and repair skills, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, appliance and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to use power tools, hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Ability to work independently and possess willingness to learn.
• Superb customer service and effective oral skills, along with a positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to read, write and speak sufficiently to process and discuss work orders correctly.
• Ability to properly use a mop, broom, vacuum cleaner, step ladder, shovel, snow blower and leaf blower.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8 hours or more per day) to perform the following physical activities: bending, climbing step ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, grasping, gripping, turning, reaching above shoulders, pushing and pulling, climbing stairs, stooping and squatting.
• Maintain accurate maintenance files and a well‑organized workspace.
