Automotive Mechanic Level II
Transdev in Lakewood, Washington is seeking an experienced Level II Automotive Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gasoline engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.
CompensationCompetitive hourly rate: minimum $32.50 per hour, maximum $34.00 per hour. Includes ASE certification stipend, PM shift differential of $1.00 per hour (starting after 2 pm).

- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
- Perform moderate‑complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist Level One Mechanics with advanced diagnostic and repair tasks to promote efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, aiding their development.
- Complete other duties as required.
- 3–5 years of experience as an Automotive or Fleet Mechanic.
- Possess two ASE certifications (required) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s tool set.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical certification. Company pays for DOT medical certification and annual renewals.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; occasionally work without supervision.
- Frequently walk for long distances on possible sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 lbs; lift materials up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to reach ground‑level equipment.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
