Position Summary

The Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and attractive outdoor spaces and supporting the general maintenance needs of buildings and facilities across the Conestoga Valley School District. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, functional, and well-kept environment for students, staff, and visitors year-round.

Key Responsibilities

Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance

• Maintain school grounds, including mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, and leaf removal.
• Perform landscaping tasks such as planting, pruning, and watering.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, snow blowers).
• Keep sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots clean, safe, and free of hazards.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow and ice removal, salting, and storm cleanup.
• Support setup and teardown of outdoor events.
• Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas to ensure safety and appearance.

Facilities & Maintenance Support

• Perform general building maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor HVAC support.
• Assist with repairs, preventive maintenance, and work order requests.
• Maintain mechanical rooms, storage areas, and maintenance equipment in an organized and safe condition.
• Identify maintenance issues and report or address them in a timely manner.
• Assist with room moves, furniture setup, and event preparation as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, building maintenance, or related fields preferred.
• Valid Driver's License REQUIRED.
• Ability to safely operate groundskeeping and basic maintenance tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of building systems and repair work is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions.
• Dependable, hardworking, safety-focused, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
