Custodian; Night Shift​/3rd Shift

Position Summary

Under the moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitory, office, and other public facilities areas. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. • Pick up and dispose of trash, including proper handling of recyclable materials.
• Dust, sweep, and dry mop.
• Wet mop or spot mop.
• Operate walk‑behind or ride‑on floor machine, wet vac, & carpet extractor.
• Cleans glass in all inside areas that can be safely reached, including entrance glass and doors both inside and out.
• Sanitizes washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities (dormitories only).
• Fills all dispensers in restrooms.
• Vacuum and clean carpets and walk‑off mats.
• Wash walls, woodwork, light fixtures, inside of windows, and other glass.
• Remove snow and ice and clean and/or pick up debris such as leaves and paper around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes in dormitories) from steps and walkways generally within ten feet of buildings.
• Report to immediate supervisor or work control damage or malfunction of equipment observed within assigned areas.
• Perform other duties assigned within the normal scope of the department’s responsibilities and the individual’s capabilities.

H.S. Diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow written and oral directions. Ability to interact with customers (students, faculty, administration), co‑workers, and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner. Must be able to climb ladders, bend and reach, and lift up to 60 lbs.

• 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.

• Night (3rd) Shift: 10pm – 6:30am;
  Sunday–Thursday.

$18.66 an hour + $1.75 3rd shift differential = $20.41.
