Position Summary
Healthcare provider located in Lancaster, SC is currently hiring for a Transporter/Maintenance worker. The Clinic Maintenance Worker/Transporter is responsible for ensuring the clinic's functionality and safety by performing maintenance and repairs along with providing safe transportation of our patients, documents, and other organizational assets. This role includes a diverse range of tasks to maintain safe, clean, and functional facilities and transport vehicles for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities- Provide courteous, professional interaction with patients, visitors, and staff while working in occupied spaces.
- Deliver laboratory specimens, medical equipment, supplies, and other assets.
- Assisting patients or lifting patients into wheelchairs or stretchers and ensure patients are comfortable and safe during transit.
- Transporting patients to various locations for medical procedures.
- Complying with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance and minor repairs to facilities and grounds, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical fixtures, doors, landscape, hardscape, exterior of buildings, and locks.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Coordinates with marketing to set up and take down assets for special events, often on nights and weekends.
- Transport staff to conferences and special events, which may be during regular workdays or nights and weekends, both locally and out of town.
- Coordinate and advise departments, staff, and supervisors for maintenance projects and potentially dangerous or hazardous environments, and complete maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain organized work/maintenance areas and safely store equipment and materials.
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies required for maintenance tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate awareness of HIPAA requirements.
- Prepare various documents/handle confidential matters in accordance with HIPAA and the Organization's policies and procedures.
- Process maintenance requests by reviewing work orders, completing repairs in a timely manner, and documenting outcomes.
- Work in a safe manner in patient care areas to not cause disruption of patient care services or expose patients to unsafe conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma and at least two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Maintenance experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- A valid CPR certification.
- Ability to properly use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment essential to the job function.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to resolve issues efficiently and exercise good problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making while managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and supervisors about maintenance needs and disruptions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings when needed.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures when performing maintenance tasks and while in healthcare environments.
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer software for communication and maintenance/transporting management and scheduling.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s record.
- Ability to complete transportation driver training as assigned.
- Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds without assistance; may occasionally lift greater weight with assistance.
- Frequently observes and analyzes details at close range with consistent precision.
