Cleaner – Data Center Construction Site
This role focuses on performing final cleaning activities in a data center construction environment. You will help prepare a new data center facility for handover by thoroughly cleaning server racks, equipment, and surrounding areas to meet high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities- Perform final cleaning of the data center facility, including server rooms and surrounding areas, to ensure the site is ready for use.
- Wipe down server racks, equipment, and related surfaces to remove dust, debris, and construction residue.
- Sweep, mop, and dust floors, walls, and fixtures throughout the facility, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Work at heights, including standing on ladders up to 8 feet, to dust servers, wires, and elevated surfaces using broom dusters or similar tools.
- Use cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively, including dusters, mops, brooms, and other commercial cleaning equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and site protocols while working on an active commercial or industrial construction site.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and properly store cleaning equipment and supplies after use.
- Collaborate with other onsite personnel and communicate any issues related to cleanliness, safety, or access.
- Adhere to schedules and complete assigned cleaning tasks within the required time frames.
- Support additional cleaning or sanitation tasks as needed to meet customer expectations.
- Prior cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general housekeeping tasks to a high standard.
- Comfort working at heights, including standing on ladders up to 8 feet.
- Ability to work safely on commercial or industrial construction sites.
- Familiarity with basic cleaning, sanitizing, and housekeeping practices.
- Capability to follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Physical ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, and lift as required for cleaning tasks.
Skills & Qualifications
- Janitorial or sanitation experience in any setting is preferred.
- Experience working in customer-facing roles or customer service environments.
- Experience using buffers or specialized cleaning equipment is a plus.
- Experience operating or working around scissor lifts or boom lifts is beneficial.
- Lift certification or experience with lift equipment is an advantage.
- Cleaning on commercial or industrial construction projects is preferred.
You will support a long-term project at a data center site in the Amarillo area, with the potential to transition to additional data center locations nearby after the initial assignment. This opportunity offers stable, consistent weekday hours and exposure to a specialized, growing industry, allowing you to build experience in large-scale commercial and industrial environments.
Work EnvironmentThis position is based on a commercial or industrial construction site for a data center. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. You will work indoors in a partially completed or newly constructed facility, often around server racks, wiring, and other technical infrastructure. The role involves working at heights on ladders up to 8 feet and may include working near or around scissor lifts or boom lifts.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements include jeans and steel-toe boots, while all other necessary PPE is provided. The environment is active and safety-focused, with coordination alongside construction and technical teams.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
