Job/FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Assistant Principal
Position summary: Provide secretarial services to Assistant Principal and other office staff.
Position Responsibilities- Greet and direct employees, students, and parents in person and on the telephone
- Prepare student referrals, attendance reports, and suspension reports
- Prepare and distribute detention and suspension cards and letters
- Prepare and maintain confidential student files
- Prepare identification cards for students and staff
- Assign student bus routes and lockers
- Manage student lost and found
- Manage student vehicle parking registration
- Compile annual transportation data for state reporting
- Coordinate conferences for returning students and student hearings
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office machines/equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a high school setting
- Two years of secretarial or clerical experience
- Completion of college coursework
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred

Physical demands and work environment- Physical demands:
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. - Work environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
- Teacher calendar plus 10 days prior to school year and 10 days after school year (200 days per school year)
- Starting wage is $17.00-$18.70/hour based on education and verified experience

- Paid 30-minute lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks

- Generous fringe benefits as provided by the current negotiated Agreement
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the current negotiated AFT/IFT Local #943 Agreement and Board policy
