Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a safer product to the food service industry.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs rotation of all general production and labor duties in the department. This position is responsible for inspecting product and packaging, helping ensure correct packaging, counts and labels.

• Inspect/Check the quality of eggs. Removes broken eggs.
• Places proper labels on boxes.
• Understands dates, expiration and item numbers.
• Ensures that bags and pails are properly sealed and clean.
• Stacks flats of CHEX product onto the proper pallet.
• Supplies material to Top Lidder machine.
• Loads material into case erector.
• Helps keep production area clean.
• Follows proper SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures).
• Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMPs, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained.
• Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
• Is able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Required:

No specific degree required.

Preferred Education,

Experience and Skills:

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Can use computer touch screens to start and stop lines as needed.
• Must obtain and maintain a company pallet jack license. Experience with pallet jack preferred.
• Can read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers, and print and speak simple sentences.
• Effective communication skills.
• Can add and subtract two-digit numbers.
• Can apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
• Maintains positive interpersonal relationships and works effectively with others to complete work assignments.
• Can safely lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Can work independently or with others in a team environment depending on the assignment.
• Is self‑motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.
• Displays responsible behavior at work.
• Open to change.
• Can work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.
• Can work around required cleaning solutions.
• Possesses good hand‑eye coordination.
• Can stand on hard surface most of the shift, ascend and descend stairs, bend, stoop or crouch, grasp and reach.

The pay range for this position is $16.30 to $18.10 per hour.
