Location Description

Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a safer product for the food service industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in training of all processing and production personnel in the assigned department.
  • Help ensure a safe work environment for all personnel and compliance with the food safety standards as established by Michael Foods, Inc.
  • Work with department lead and supervisors to maintain sanitation standards of the facility.
  • Coordinate with processors the timing of system readiness, line operations, and product run details, including matching and line sterilization to meet production requirements set by the company.
  • Coordinate the need and arrival of raw materials for each line, ensuring that all supply needs are always met.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship between all members of the department and other areas.
  • Verify that all operator downtime, temperature charts, and other documentation needed is accurate and complete before it is turned into the shift supervisor, maintaining accurate records for the company and USDA.
  • Communicate with co‑workers at shift change to ensure accurate transfer of information regarding production, scheduling, etc.
  • Continually monitor the lines for quality product and notify all appropriate personnel if a discrepancy is found.
  • Monitor rework inventories and coordinate rework activity to ensure product is reworked before it becomes inedible.
  • Follow all PPE, GMP, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, and USDA regulations and guidelines.
  • Report and fill out work orders on maintenance issues as they relate to productivity, food safety, quality, and human safety to maintenance.
  • Encourage suggestion from employees that will improve productivity, quality, and/or control cost of production.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Responsible for food safety and food quality of MFI products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • One to three months related leadership experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Food production experience preferred.
Compensation

The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $21.60 per hour.
