Second shift- Pelbo Lead

Job Title

Position is responsible for assisting the shift supervisor in the managing of the Packaging/Pelbo Department.

Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the food service industry.

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to food safety & quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Assist in training of all processing and production personnel in the assigned department.
• Helps in providing a safe work environment for all personnel.
• Works with supervisors to help maintain sanitation standards of the facility.
• Gives work direction to the packaging operators and utility people.
• Coordinates with the processors the time that the system will be ready to run.
• Maintain an effective working relationship between all members of the department and other areas.
• Verify that all operator down time, temperature charts and any other documentation needed is accurate and complete.
• Communicate and work closely with the pasteurizer and packaging leads to ensure efficient flow of product.
• Manage the incoming flow of pasteurized eggs.
• Adhere to quality work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
• Responsible for operating the Pelbo machine according to direction from the supervisor.
• Monitor automatic mechanical loading of individual flats onto conveyor ensuring the machine does not jam.
• Oversee entire procedure ensuring there are no jams from the time a flat enters the line until it exits and stacks at the other end of the machine.
• Responsible for cleaning/sanitizing machines when needed.
• Must be able to follow all of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures.
• Must be able to follow all of the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures.
• Must be able to follow all of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
• Must be able to follow all of the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).

Education and experience required: previous food production experience preferred. Prior supervisor experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour.
