Regional HVAC Distributor, recognized for its technical expertise, product availability, and customer loyalty, is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for the Residential side of their business in Greater Chicago. A professional should have a minimum of three years of current experience working in Residential HVAC distribution to be successful in this role. Dedicated internal training within the first 18 months of hire will get a professional ready and REALLY know the product lines and the internal workings of the organization.
This training also shows the commitment the company offers, so a professional will succeed.
A Territory Manager (TM) is the link between distribution and the residential dealers, contractors, etc., within a designated territory. The TM will visit some assigned accounts but also be responsible for bringing on new accounts within a 60-mile radius, in person, on a weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly basis, depending on the size and/or potential of the account.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Devise effective territory sales and marketing strategies
- Analyze data to find the most efficient sales methods
- Meet with customers to address concerns and provide solutions
- Discover sales opportunities through consumer research
- Present products and services to prospective customers
- Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g., trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
- Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes
- Assess sales performance according to KPIs
- Monitor competition within the assigned region
- Prepare and submit reports to the sales manager
- Local travel is required 100 % of the time
- Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue
- Ability to develop sales strategies and use performance KPIs
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational and leadership ability
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 3 years of current, or recent, industry experience (HVAC Residential Distribution Sales)
Up to $160,000, depending on experience, for the first 18 months, then draw versus commission once the territory is established. Relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
