On-Call Facility Worker
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Coordinator
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
The On-call Facility Worker, under the general supervision of the Foreperson, performs routine facility housekeeping, custodial services, snow removal, grounds services, room cleanliness, and set/tear down functions to provide a superior experience for Linn City Center properties and equipment pertaining to the operations of Linn City Center facilities and events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform housekeeping, interior and exterior custodial services, grounds services, room cleanliness, and event set-up and tear-down as indicated on banquet event work orders (BEOs).
- Assist in directing the work activities of on-call Facility Workers in the absence of a full-time Facility Worker or Foreperson.
- Maintain a safe, respectful work environment free of harassment and ensure compliance with Legends Global policies, OSHA standards, and applicable laws.
- Maintain accurate inventory control of custodial and housekeeping equipment and supplies.
- Maintain safe, orderly, and organized storage of supplies and equipment.
- Train facility personnel in line with organizational and departmental guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations, communicate findings to supervisors.
- Ensure safe operating conditions of all tools, machinery, equipment, methods, and materials.
- Wear required safety equipment and operate all tools and machinery in compliance with guidelines.
- Perform routine checks for potential hazards and equipment malfunctions.
- Provide input and recommendations for equipment, materials, and supplies needed.
- Read, interpret, and apply information from banquet event work orders.
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, staging, and other equipment to complete room configurations.
- Assist customers, the public, and other departments with daily operational services.
- Promptly notify supervisor of any client or guest issues.
- Adhere to departmental dress code standards.
- Participate in committees and meetings as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge of general and preventative maintenance of facilities, equipment, and building management systems.
- Work irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments and operational teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum of two years of experience in custodial services, housekeeping, and/or special event set up/tear down.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong decision-making and enthusiastic advocacy for the company.
- Maintain adequate supply levels and interact positively with others.
- Knowledge of operational rules, procedures, and programs.
- Address Operations Department and facility questions and ensure accuracy of add-on sheets.
- Basic knowledge of event coordination and management.
- Obtain valid license for heavy machinery and equipment operation.
- Diagram, build, set up, and tear down staging, and operate basic custodial equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of rigging standards, safety, commercial building systems, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
- Adhere to safety practices and general and preventative maintenance knowledge.
- Perform basic math, operate tractor or plow, and assist snow and ice removal.
- Safe use of hand and power tools.
- Teamwork, cooperation, professional and positive attitude.
- Minimal direction, excellent interpersonal skills, clear organization.
- Effective verbal, listening, and written English skills.
