- High-impact leadership role with operational influence across the company
- Lead all shop operations to maintain fleet reliability, uptime and safety performance
- Manage and develop supervisors, mechanics and the parts team through coaching, training and performance management
- Use fleet management software and data to prioritize work, identify issues and improve maintenance outcomes
- Oversee parts department operations, including purchasing, inventory levels and vendor performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, safety, accounting and leadership teams
- Manage maintenance budgets, approve expenses and optimize total cost of ownership
- Ensure new equipment is received, inspected and properly commissioned before service
- Drive safety initiatives, incident reviews and injury prevention efforts
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in maintenance processes, inventory management and shop efficiency
- Fleet and heavy equipment maintenance (diesel systems)
- Shop operations and workforce leadership
- Parts and inventory management
- Budgeting and cost control
- Data analysis and maintenance planning
- Vendor and supplier coordination
- Minimum 7 years of experience maintaining diesel trucks and heavy equipment
- At least 2 years of management experience in a multi-shift maintenance environment
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in diesel technology, management or related field preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft 365 and fleet management software
- Ability to drive results through data, organization and accountability
- Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certification preferred
- Monday – Friday
- Typical hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (additional hours as needed)
This position is designated safety-sensitive. The associate will operate a vehicle or other equipment on behalf of Granger Waste Services as an essential function of their job and must comply with all applicable safety and drug and alcohol policies.
