Pay and BenefitsStarting salary of $30.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience. Schedule and LocationMonday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The normal setting for this job is our waste disposal site in Ontonagon, MI, and includes work at one of our recycling facilities serving over 20 million customers across the USA.
Job Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records.
- Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Five years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam.
- Work independently while maintaining attention to safety.
- Take accountability for following safety guidelines.
- Good communication skills and readiness to support colleagues.
- Ability to problem-solve independently.
- Use motor coordination and finger dexterity for most of the workday.
- May need to handle objects of up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Risk exposure to cuts, burns, and toxic chemicals rarely.
- Work outdoors with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes for most of the workday.
- Typical settings include shop or field environments.
