Job DescriptionWe are seeking skilled Facility Maintenance Technicians to add to our team in an industrial manufacturing environment. This technician provides comprehensive maintenance support for assigned buildings, ensuring that all facilities remain safe, secure, and well-maintained. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems with general facilities upkeep, preventive maintenance, and coordination with external vendors.
Responsibilities- Monitor facilities on a regular basis to ensure they remain safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained.
- Troubleshoot and repair power systems, HVAC systems and controls, and other mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maintain reliable operations.
- Perform general and preventive maintenance on building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components.
- Carry out carpentry and basic building repairs as needed to maintain the structural and functional integrity of the facility.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, piping, and related components, to ensure proper operation.
- Coordinate and manage vendors performing maintenance, repair, or service work, ensuring quality and adherence to schedules.
- Replace lighting system bulbs, ballasts, and related components as needed to maintain proper illumination throughout the facility.
- Move, assemble, and relocate office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
- Use appropriate tools, equipment, and safety procedures when performing maintenance and repair tasks.
- Document maintenance activities, repair work, and service requests using basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5–7 years of facilities maintenance experience.
- At least 4 years of facilities-related maintenance experience in MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing).
- Demonstrated experience with facilities repair and maintenance in a plant or industrial environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform basic electrical repairs safely.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience repairing industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications to track and document maintenance activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting HVAC systems and controls in an industrial or plant environment.
- Experience in vendor coordination and oversight for maintenance and repair services.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance programs on MEP systems and industrial equipment.
- Comfort working with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Capability to move and handle office furniture, machinery, and materials safely.
- Willingness to perform a broad range of facilities tasks, from minor repairs to more complex troubleshooting.
