Responsibilities
- Under the supervision and guidance of the student manager and professional staff, provide excellent customer service to members and assist with the daily operations of the Recreation Center and Esports arena, including implementation of proper protocol for opening and closing procedures to ensure a safe and effective facility operation and secure the facility at closing.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for Recreation Center members by implementing University and Rec Sports guidelines, including emergency protocol, CPR/AED, evacuation procedures, safe handling of blood‑borne pathogens, and ensuring safe shelter and departure of members during severe weather.
- Maintain current certifications/licensure required as a condition of employment, providing valid proof prior to expiration dates.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate: enrolled at least half‑time, 6 credit hours per semester; GPA 2.0 or higher; must meet all other requirements in the TAMIU Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
- Graduate: enrolled at least half‑time, 3 credit hours per semester; GPA 3.0 or higher; must meet all other requirements in the TAMIU Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
- Must obtain CPR/AED certification within 60 days of employment.
- Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Knowledge and implementation of University policies and departmental guidelines to ensure a safe, positive environment.
- Ability to maintain a positive work attitude, punctuality, professional dress, behavior, and etiquette.
- Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced work environment.
- Experience or knowledge in the Esports world; experience with IM leagues, Discord, OBS Studio preferred.
- Position requires on‑campus, face‑to‑face interactions and maintaining a regular campus schedule, with possible moving, lifting, evening, and weekend work.
Submit time sheet biweekly and promptly complete all required training.
All positions are security‑sensitive. Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent upon the institution’s verification of credentials and other information required by the institution’s procedures, including completion of the criminal history check.
CompensationPay rate: $8.00 per hour for up to 19 hours weekly.

Eligibility for Student Employment- Undergraduate students: enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester; international undergraduates: at least 12 semester credit hours; 2.0 overall GPA.
- Graduate students: enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester; international graduate students: at least 9 semester credit hours; 3.0 overall GPA.
- Graduating students may enroll for less than half‑time in the final semester; must submit proof of graduation.
This position may be eligible for the Federal Work Study and State Work Study programs.
