Job Description
Tracks all inventory and orders as required. Purchases equipment or items short in stock. Stocks and restocks items for repairs and replacement of parts. Loads and unloads heavy equipment in extreme conditions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Stocks and restocks items for repairs and replacement of parts.
- Works with vendors to receive items/purchase equipment or items short in stock.
- Loads and unloads heavy equipment.
- Tracks inventory and orders materials as required.
- Maintains vehicle fleet inventory, maintenance, inspection, and repair schedules.
- Receives purchased building materials and supplies from vendors and suppliers at the warehouse for restocking.
- Picks up and transports materials from vendors.
- Performs related work as required.
- Modern office procedures and methods, including computers and applicable software.
- English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- City procurement policies.
- Inventory control procedures.
- OSHA and warehouse safety guidelines.
- Organization and time management.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
- Meets schedules and deadlines.
- Maintains confidentiality of information and professional boundaries.
- Ensures proper working conditions of the fleet.
- Maintains warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work.
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk.
- Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly when moving objects.
- Exposes to various environmental elements: communicable diseases, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, loud noises, extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts.
- Requires regional, national, or international travel in some cases; primarily local travel.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
- Valid Texas Driver License. Out-of-state license holders must obtain a Texas Driver License within six months of employment.
- Background check and certified school transcripts required for all positions.
- Drug and alcohol test required prior to employment, with random testing for safety-sensitive positions.
