Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance

Role summary:

Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, to perform preventive maintenance and repairs ensuring facility safety, functionality, and appearance. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and addressing equipment and facility issues while managing maintenance schedules and contractor work. The position includes training and mentoring associates, overseeing projects, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Senior Technician will also manage parts inventory, document activities, and support operational excellence by collaborating with teams to deliver quality results aligned with company policies and values.

The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmart’s facilities operate efficiently and safely through preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and thorough inspections. Collaborating with internal and external partners, the team coordinates resources and budgets to deliver timely, high-quality service. • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Lead and oversee work of less-experienced associates, providing hands‑on training and guidance.
• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor relationships to ensure quality and compliance.
• Operate heavy machinery and company vehicles safely, conducting pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Document maintenance activities, budget information, and warranty claims accurately.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.

• Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Proficiency in multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
• Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Skilled in operating heavy machinery and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
• Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination.
• Capability to train and mentor less-experienced associates and lead work teams.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills for maintenance activities and budget tracking.
