Maintenance Coordinator I - Greater Ridgecrest YMCA

We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Coordinator who takes pride in keeping buildings, grounds, and equipment safe, clean, and operating at their best. Working under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, you will coordinate the day-to-day maintenance needs of the branch by:
- Performing general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Completing minor plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and carpentry repairs
- Painting, pressure washing, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep
- Inspecting facilities and equipment to identify maintenance or safety concerns
- Monitoring and completing monthly safety inspections and checklists
- Maintaining maintenance supplies, tools, and an organized workshop
- Coordinating maintenance projects and communicating progress with branch leadership
- Building positive working relationships with contractors, vendors, volunteers, and staff
- Supervising maintenance volunteers as assigned
- Helping create a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for YMCA members and guests
- Reporting any safety concerns, suspicious activity, or situations that may impact member or child safety
We're looking for someone who is:
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Comfortable working independently while communicating effectively with leadership
- Skilled at troubleshooting and solving maintenance issues
- Organized and able to prioritize multiple projects
- Customer-service focused and enjoys working around people
- Committed to providing a safe environment for members and staff
Preferred qualifications include:
- Two or more years of maintenance, construction, facilities, or handyman experience
- Experience using common hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Valid driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to successfully complete a Level II background screening and pre-employment drug screening
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
