Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
Standard
Work Schedule:
Shift: Other Shift; 6:00 AM-2:00 PM, M‑F
- Plan, organize, and direct routine maintenance operations.
- Train and supervise custodial staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation.
- Require knowledge in the care and use of power equipment.
- Supervise two or more full‑time employees.
- Make decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees, or make related recommendations.
- Schedule work to meet normal requirements without interfering with residents or occupants of office space.
- Direct workers performing cleaning tasks.
- Develop and participate in a training program familiarizing custodial staff with particular problems involved in custodial services, including improved techniques.
- Inspect buildings, rooms, storage space, hallways, fixtures and custodial equipment to observe the results of work.
- Requisition appropriate materials and supplies.
- Prepare and submit appropriate reports and memoranda regarding custodial policies and procedures.
- Recommend budget, materials and equipment for the area.
Required
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
Environment: Work involves almost constant exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, and other potentially dangerous materials/situations that require safety precautions and protective equipment.
Physical Effort: Considerable physical activity; physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
Risk: Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
