Requirements

Must have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience in a hotel or related field required
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related environment preferred
  • Vocational training or college coursework in a relevant field is beneficial
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work long hours when necessary
  • Capable of lifting over 100 pounds occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly
  • Maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor at all times
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests
  • Ability to listen, understand, and address concerns from employees and guests
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all scheduled hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Consistent attendance in line with Highgate Hotel Standards, adjusted as needed
  • Adhere to personal appearance and grooming standards, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel regulations to support safe and efficient operations
  • Focus on productivity, identify issues, and assist in finding solutions
  • Effectively handle issues, including anticipating and resolving them as they arise

Responsibilities:

  • Execute repairs on hotel air conditioning systems including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical components
  • Gather necessary readings from equipment
  • Test and document cooling tower operations
  • Replace and set up televisions as necessary
  • Change light switches, outlets, bulbs, and fixtures
  • Carry out furniture repairs to maintain quality
  • Replace and fix pumps as needed
  • Complete plumbing repairs for issues like clogged drains and leaks
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Trace and repair all varieties of water lines
  • Diagnose and fix kitchen equipment malfunctions
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities
  • Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas
  • Paint designated areas to maintain aesthetics
  • Repair and finish drywall
  • Fix various types of wall coverings
  • Repair and set up the hotels electronic lock systems
  • Assist in supervising fellow engineering staff
  • Help schedule preventive maintenance tasks
