Senior Watch Engineer

The Senior Watch Engineer is responsible for overseeing all facility and engineering operations during their assigned shift. This includes responding to maintenance calls, monitoring building systems, directing Watch Engineers, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of all property systems.

• Act as the lead engineer on shift, coordinating all watch activities.
• Monitor and ensure proper operation of:
  • HVAC systems
  • Boilers and chillers
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Plumbing and water systems
  • Pools and Spas
  • Fire/life safety systems
• Maintain continuous property coverage and response readiness.
• Assign, prioritize, and follow up on work orders (Maximo or similar system).
• Ensure timely response to guest service calls and internal requests.
• Coordinate emergency and urgent repairs.
• Provide direction and guidance to Watch Engineers and other shift personnel.
• Ensure proper workmanship, safety practices, and productivity.
• Serve as the point of contact for Operations, Security, and other departments during the shift.
• Take the lead in incident response, including:
  • Equipment failures
  • Power outages
  • Water leaks or shutdowns
  • Life-safety alarms
• Coordinate with Security, EVS, and management during emergencies.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all incidents.
• Conduct system checks and rounds.
• Identify potential issues and initiate corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with property PM programs.
• Maintain detailed shift logs and reports.
• Communicate all significant activity to incoming shift and management.
• Escalate issues that require additional resources or management awareness.
• Enforce all safety policies, OSHA standards, and union guidelines.
• Ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Journeyman-level experience (as defined by Local 501 agreement)
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Hotel/casino engineering operations
• Proven leadership or senior-level experience on a watch team
• Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
• Strong communication and coordination skills

Additional Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and work in mechanical spaces
• Capable of responding quickly to emergencies across the property
