Utility Porter - Public Area

Responsible for the care of carpet, marble and hard surface floors to ensure the best possible appearance and maintenance at all times.

Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

• Sweep, mop and polish hard floor surfaces throughout all public areas
• Strip and wax all VCT floors throughout the public areas
• Shampoo, extract and/or spot clean all public area carpets
• Maintain all floors for the best possible appearance and to prolong the life of surfaces
• Knowledge on how to clean and maintain grout in all flooring

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in hospitality industry in a floor care position
• Understanding how, to cut and polish marble, and other natural stones
• Strip and wax procedures
• Able to operate heavy equipment to include but not limited to:
  High power pressure washers, extraction machines, carpet shampooers, upholstery machines, floor machines, as well as walk behind and industrial ride on machines
• Understanding of chemicals, their functions, proper dilution ratios etc
• Must have knowledge of and compliance with departmental policies, services, procedures and standards
• Ability to operate scissor lift is a plus
