Position: Facility Maintenance Worker – Full Time

Location: Durango Hills YMCA - Las Vegas, NV 89129

Salary Range: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour

Shift: Day, Monday‑Friday 6am – 10am (20 hours per week)

The YMCA of Southern Nevada seeks a facility maintenance worker to maintain the Durango Hills facility and grounds. The worker will perform minor repairs, custodial duties, and support facility events in a clean, inviting environment.

• Perform minor repair and maintenance issues, including light plumbing, electrical, paint, and patch repairs.
• Report major problems to the Director of Facilities.
• Perform custodial functions for indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies for maintenance and clean‑up.
• Assist with setup and teardown for facility events.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Attend required abuse risk management training.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
• Adhere to job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
• Ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; monitor high‑risk locations such as locker‑rooms and bathrooms.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, and stooping. Employees must lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally work  job may involve exposure to wet conditions, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels both indoor and outdoors.

• Valid Nevada driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of related experience and/or training, or two years as a custodian or janitor with related knowledge and skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; communicate with customers or employees.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), percent, ratio, and graph interpretation.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• CPR/First Aid for Professional Rescuers certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
