Benefits- New hourly full‑time team members working 30 hours or more per week will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full‑time employment.
- Full‑time team members accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) at a rate of 120 hours per year.
- Full‑time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
- Part‑time team members accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.
- All team members 21 years and older can participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.
The Porter is an entry‑level position that supports the general maintenance, janitorial, and basic upkeep of the resort facility. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Assure all rooms in the facility are clean and meet facility standards, including entrances, hallways, game rooms, community living areas, fitness and spa areas, running track, elevators, patios, and bathrooms.
- Perform detail‑oriented janitorial services such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, vacuuming, and replace burnt‑out light bulbs.
- Maintain pool, spa, and water features on a daily or weekly basis, ensuring they remain free of dirt and debris and that water levels are controlled; use caution signs if necessary.
- Work safely and use all assigned personal protective equipment; report unsafe conditions or accidents to a supervisor.
- Report all pool‑related issues to the Maintenance Director and assist with facility repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Keep logs of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities, including accurate maintenance and water testing results.
- Ensure indoor and outdoor furniture and fitness equipment are properly placed.
- Maintain bathrooms, light bulbs, patio furniture, and fitness equipment.
- Keep room supplies clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Provide seasonal and holiday assistance with club decorations.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year experience in building maintenance preferred.
- Certified Pool Operator certification preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Computer literate.
- Skilled in light maintenance, basic repairs, and project‑based activities; demonstrates growing knowledge of equipment operation, including clean‑up.
- Can communicate positively and effectively with team members about job tasks and responsibilities.
- Desires a positive attitude and a productive work environment.
- Self‑motivated, follows direction, work independently with little supervision.
- Demonstrates initiative; can think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.

- Requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
This position operates in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to weather conditions and occasional native wildlife when outdoors. Outdoor work may involve walking on cement while pushing a cart or carrying items. There may be occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles; noise levels can be moderate to loud. Employees must wear all assigned personal protective equipment.
Physical DemandsThe role requires seeing, hearing, speaking clearly, standing, bending, walking for most of the shift; sitting, driving, using hands, touching and holding, reaching with hands and arms. The position requires lifting and/or pushing or pulling items weighing up to 30 pounds.
