Traffic Control Planner

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and schedule Crew job tasks
• Assist crews ordering and dispatching equipment, material, or supply needs
• Verify Traffic Control Technicians follow plan and safety regulations
• Implement NPL Safety and Quality procedures at all times
• Perform various tracking and recordkeeping related duties as directed and required by management
• Report public and business concerns or issues to supervisors
• Other duties as required
• Other duties as requested by leadership

• 5 year of traffic control experience
• ATSSA Certification
• Extensive Knowledge of DOT regulations of Traffic Control Procedures
• Knowledge of underground utilities and locator markings
• Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times
• Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances.
• Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
• Comprehend and communicate specific directions in English to ensure the safety of all
• Desire to learn and commit to working safely
• Detail-oriented and have both strong work ethics and organizational skills
• Energetic, have good communication skills and be able to resolve conflict effectively
• Complete assignments while working under tight deadlines and with minimal or no supervision

• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
• Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment

• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
