Job Summary
Although there is a salary range for this position, the candidate hired into this position will be hired at the bottom of the salary range.
This recruitment will be used to establish an open competitive and promotional eligibility list that may be used to fill this vacancy and vacancies occurring in this classification for a minimum period of six (6) months.

Job DutiesPerforms a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and related facilities equipment.
FLSA StatusNon-Exempt
Working ConditionsMay work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education and ExperienceEquivalent to High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of journey-level experience in one or more of the trades.
Licensing and CertificationMust possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License at time of application.
Medical ExaminationEmployment with the Regional Transportation Commission is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician. A pre-employment drug test is part of the examination.
Background InvestigationEmployment is contingent upon the results of a comprehensive education/experience background investigation, a criminal history record, and driving history check.

Professional Experience- Demonstrated HVAC knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated Journeyman's plumbing and electrical knowledge
- Ability to operate a computer and associated software
- Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple contracts for compliance
- Physical ability to perform maintenance, construction and related work, including operating hand and power equipment; stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Accommodations may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodations.
Monitors, maintains and performance standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems. Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for facilities; performs standard repair/replacement of components as appropriate. Monitors and performs maintenance of plumbing systems for facilities. Assist with oversight of contracted services. Performs carpentry maintenance tasks for facilities. Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of building operational systems. Operate computer hardware and associated software applications.
May perform general maintenance, custodial and trash removal tasks as required. Drives vehicle to work sites and transports materials and supplies as required. Maintains records of activities performed and materials utilized and replenishes supplies. All other duties assigned.
