Maintenance Supervisor
Salary: 105k-$135k
Location: Lathrop, California
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in the corrugated industry. This critical role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of production and processing machinery, including our full-line corrugator, converting machines, boiler, and other support equipment. Your primary objective will be to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in manufacturing
, including expertise in variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and both strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
. You must be able to work any shift
, effectively manage contractors
, demonstrate excellent leadership abilities
, and have a proactive approach to maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance:
- Implement, maintain, and strictly adhere to all company policies and procedures, the safety program, and good housekeeping practices.
- Promptly report any information to the Maintenance Manager that may impede plant operations or pose a safety risk.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish high morale by demonstrating fairness, consistency, and a genuine interest in employee problems, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings with department personnel to discuss performance, safety, and operational updates.
- Maintenance Operations & Coordination:
- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of all plant machinery, including the full-line corrugator, converting machines, boiler, and support equipment, to ensure minimal downtime.
- Implement and maintain a robust and cost-effective preventive maintenance (PM) program to extend equipment life and improve reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections, repairs, and lubrication of production machines and equipment, ensuring they are approved for safe and efficient production use.
- Monitor boiler water treatment in the corrugator area to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
- Inventory & Cost Control:
- Conduct selective monthly inventory checks, verifying accuracy with computerized maintenance parts and supplies inventory.
- Locate Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manufacturers and after-market distributors to secure competitive costs on parts and improved service.
- Project Management & Oversight:
- Oversee and plan contract work and installations performed by outside vendors, especially when the Maintenance Manager or Superintendent is out of the plant.
- Assist in the selection, evaluation, and installation of capital and expense projects, contributing technical expertise and insights.
- Professional Development:
- Actively pursue continuous improvement in career skills by enrolling in seminars, technical courses, including Pratt U.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role
, preferably within the corrugated packaging or similar heavy manufacturing industry. - Proven experience with corrugators, converting equipment, boilers, and associated plant support systems.

- Technical
Skills:- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
- Leadership &

- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Availability:
- Must be available on call 24 hours a day to address critical maintenance issues and be able to work any shift as required.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb ladders/stairs for extended periods.
