Greenskeeper

Position: Greenskeeper 1 Wage Class: Non-Exempt

Department: Golf Course Maintenance

Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents, the Greenskeeper I performs safely, the basic and semi-skilled tasks and project work related to maintaining a golf course and its facilities.

• Operates the necessary equipment to mow/trim greens, tees, collars and approaches.
• Operates equipment and performs duties involving sand bunkers and filling divots.
• Aids storm clean-up, aeration, sod laying, brush/debris removal.
• Performs duties using a rotary mower, fly mower, edger, string trimmer, backpack and pull behind blower, as well as hand tools.

• Helps with other departments when assistance is requested.
• Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
• Maintains a clean break room and locker area.

• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new job tasks.
• Proactive in individual and group task settings.

• Has the ability to lift products/equipment up to 50 lbs. above shoulders.
• Has the ability to push/pull, bend, and climb when required.
• Has the ability to stand long periods of time and walk at steady pace for up to 5 hours.
• Operation of equipment continually for a period of 3-5 hours.

• All work is performed outdoors, rain or shine.
• Exposure to extreme heat and bitter cold temperatures.
• Occasional exposure to chemicals, electricity, fumes, and moving parts.
• Occasional exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
