The Plant Operations & EVS Coordinator provides oversight of maintenance, grounds, and environmental services operations. This position ensures a clean, organized, safe, and efficient environment while maintaining regulatory compliance and organizational standards.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous maintenance and environmental services experience preferred.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
- Supervisory experience in plant operations, maintenance, or environmental services.
- Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and life-safety standards.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and staff training.
- Maintain facility systems, equipment, and grounds through preventive maintenance and repair activities.
- Coordinate and monitor maintenance and environmental services staff assignments.
- Develop and improve housekeeping and environmental service programs.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and staff development.
- Evaluate employee work performance and provide coaching as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement and QAPI activities.
- Train staff on equipment operation, chemical safety, and proper tool usage.
- Oversee facility cleaning schedules and master cleaning plans.
- Conduct inspections to ensure a safe, sanitary, and compliant environment.
- Coordinate routine maintenance projects and special projects.
- Monitor departmental logs, reports, and communications.
- Manage purchasing of equipment, supplies, and chemicals.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and fire drills.
- Refer policy changes and contract decisions to the Nursing Home Administrator.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a positive and professional image of the organization.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, infection prevention, and accountability.
- Maintain competency and knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Comply with all organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service consistent with organizational values.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform overhead lifting.
- Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
