Overview
As a certified Safelite Repair Specialist I, you will utilize our industry-leading technology to complete vehicle glass repairs. You will champion the Safelite Spirit with your can‑do attitude, caring heart, and service mindset while striving to bring unexpected happiness to customers by completing jobs with only the highest quality standard in mind.
Responsibilities- Learn to repair vehicle glass (in the classroom and hands‑on) with a focus on the Safelite Way of Fitting under the guidance of experienced technicians and Safelite leaders.
- Repair chips, cracks and other auto glass related issues on customer vehicles.
- Manage work orders, customer documentation and customer communication through the Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
- Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
- Clean customer vehicle during wait/idle time during the repair process as well as perform additional housekeeping tasks in company vehicle and shop.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools and chemicals utilized throughout the workday.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Monday through Saturday;
Sundays and one day off each week. - Competitive weekly base pay starting at $16.75 per hour.
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (Preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any other licenses required to operate a company vehicle.
- Complete on‑the‑job training and Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (Required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for short periods; assist in lifting windshields weighing 26–50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws; possess a willingness to be monitored via camera/video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
- Work outside in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
- Handle chemicals (including flammable types) as required by the “Safelite Way of Fitting.”
- Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
- Problem‑solve and troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
- Read, write and interpret English and technical directions.
- Communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means).
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
- Demonstrate stability under pressure and/or opposition.
This position involves driving duties that will be monitored through the use of cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
