General Maintenance Technician – Kansas Speedway
NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join as a General Maintenance Technician based at Kansas Speedway. This position is responsible for routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and track services duties, operating a variety of equipment and maintaining basic office systems knowledge including computer systems, programs, and a cellular phone.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs all preventive maintenance functions including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance/repairs related to building maintenance.
- Welds, cuts, and fabricates.
- Tests repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Requisition s parts and equipment with supervisor approval.
- Keeps records and reports.
- Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Operates equipment as needed.
- Responsible for track preparation, maintenance, and restoration, including track cleaning (sweeping, blowing, applying and picking up absorbent, washing/scrubbing fluids off of the track, etc.).
- Reconfigures the track between oval, full road course, modified road course, short road course, and drag strip configurations.
- General maintenance around the facility, including painting.
- Ability to operate and maintain many different pieces of equipment including vehicles, lifts, and other heavy machinery.
- Installing and storing signage throughout the property.
- Assist with fleet management and inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during race events.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and meet clean driving record criteria.
