Job Title

This position supervises staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. The incumbent oversees the daily operations of the section, including processing equipment requests, assisting with the budget process, and coordinating repairs; performs highly complex installations and repairs within the functional area;

and assists with coordinating and overseeing the work of outside contractors.

Essential Duties
  • Serving as a lead to staff by assigning and monitoring work and providing direction
  • Performing highly complex installations and repairs within the functional area
  • Inspecting equipment and determining repair and maintenance needs
  • Performing preventative maintenance within the functional area
  • Maintaining inventory levels of supplies, equipment, and related materials
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature or level
Public Speaking Duties
  • Communicate effectively and engage with staff, citizens, leadership, and elected officials as needed.

  • Pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting.
  • May require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade

The grade for this position is B23(3). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Four years of trades experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid Driver's License
