POSITION DEFINITION As environmental services technician, you are responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of all assigned facilities and areas. The environmental services technician must meet Lighthouse standards of cleanliness to ensure a safe and healthy environment for consumers and team members. Under the supervision of the maintenance coordinator, the environmental services technician cleans and sanitizes all facilities as assigned, looks for and reports any problems associated with the maintenance of the facilities, and tackles any new projects as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sweep, scrub, mop, and polish floors

Vacuum clean carpets, rugs, and draperies

Shampoo carpets, rugs, and upholstery

Dust and polish furniture

Clean metal fixtures and fittings

Empty trash containers (Clean containers when needed)
Dispose of all trash in a sanitary manner

Clean all bathrooms including toilet bowls, sinks and mirrors

Restock all paper supplies: paper towels and toilet paper

Wipe down glass surfaces, walls and furniture as needed

Wash windows (as scheduled)
Clean up any spills, trash

Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.

Maintain a record of needed supplies and provide report to maintenance coordinator KNOWLEDGE AND

SKILLS:

Knowledge and use of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods

Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials

Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment

Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.

Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 50lbs)
Be able to read and follow instructions on all cleaning supplies and equipment

Must take supervision in both writing and oral formats from supervisors

Ability to maintain confidentiality.
