Environmental Services Technician – Sanford Health

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, seeks an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient and resident rooms and other facility areas.

• Maintain safety and cleanliness in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Empty waste baskets and perform sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing of floors using brooms, mops, or powered machines.
• Follow infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines while wearing proper protective equipment.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well‑stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately; assist with laundry areas and technology applications as needed.
• Perform physical duties such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials, including lifting or moving up to 40–50lbs and pushing or pulling variable weights.
• Stand on your feet for the majority of the shift and work flexible hours, including overtime, backup calls, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum six months of housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with computer use (helpful).
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and chemicals (helpful).
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment (preferred).
• Physical ability to lift or move 40–50lbs and perform other emphasized tasks.

• Salary range: $11.00–$17.00 per hour.
