Evening Custodian – Clear Falls High School Job Description

As a CCISD employee, you will have a primary purpose to:

• Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations.
• Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

• Perform cleaning duties for light duty, restroom, utility, and vacuum work as part of team cleaning protocol or zone cleaning management.
• Maintain cleaning schedule: sweep, dust rooms and walls; remove gum, marks, and spills; replace furniture; empty pencil sharpeners and wastebaskets; carry out trash; clean chalkboards, trays, erasers; clean windows, doors, ledges, light fixtures; sanitize surfaces in classrooms, hallways; clean and fill sinks and dispensers.
• Care for floors: carpet extraction, mopping, spot removal, sweeping, vacuuming, applying finish, buffing.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms (lavatories, commodes, urinals, walls, floors) and fill all dispensers.
• Inspect and clean cafeterias, food labs, gyms, lounges, hallways, locker rooms, and exterior athletic areas as assigned.
• Maintain orderly custodial closets and storerooms.
• Participate in setup, breakdown, and cleaning for district or community events, emergency response sites.
• Report maintenance problems to Lead Custodian for repairs.
• Work around meetings or special activities during work hours.
• Ensure lights are out, doors locked, building secure before clocking out.
• Clean custodial equipment after use.
• Work in assigned areas and with crew during holidays or when other custodians are absent.
• Participate in district’s Standard Reunification Protocol as directed.

  Skills:
  
  Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, energy management and safety procedures; operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment; handle cleaning supplies properly; work flexible schedule.
• Experience: Experience in custodial work or willingness to learn.

• Buffer, floor scrubber, wet/dry vacuum cleaner, backpack vacuum cleaner, carpet extractor, ladder.

• Mental Demands: Ability to maintain emotional control at all times.
• Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Strenuous walking, standing and/or climbing; lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders; work alone.

• Terms:
  
  220 days.
• Hours per day: 8.
• Pay Grade:
  Auxiliary 12 ($12.61/hr).
• Schedule – Elementary: 2–10:30 p.m.;
  Secondary: 3–11:30 p.m.
• Position Type:
  Full‑time.
