Peak Season Repair Specialist Overview
Peak Season Repair Specialist serves as a pathway to full‑time employment with Safelite. In this role you will use industry‑leading technology to complete vehicle glass repairs and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities- Learn to repair vehicle glass in classroom and hands‑on training, focusing on the Safelite Way of Fitting under guidance of experienced technicians and leaders.
- Repair chips, cracks and other auto‑glass related issues on customer vehicles.
- Manage work orders, customer documentation and communication through Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management technology.
- Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
- Clean customer vehicles during wait or idle time and perform additional housekeeping tasks in company vehicle and shop.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools and chemicals utilized throughout the workday.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly base pay up to $20.75 per hour.
- Paid training and all tools and resources needed to be successful.
Education
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any other licenses required to operate a company vehicle.
Certification:
- On‑the‑job training and completion of Safelite Safe Tech certification required.
Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs for short periods; assist with lifting windshields weighing 26 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all federal, state and local laws; agreement to be monitored via camera and video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service and exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to safely work outside in a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- Ability to work with chemicals, including potentially flammable chemicals, as applicable to the Safelite Way of Fitting.
- Ability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
- Problem‑solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to read, write and interpret the English language and technical directions.
- Ability to communicate orally via phone and in writing via computer or other electronic means.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition, such as time pressure and productivity measures.
This position involves driving duties that will be monitored through the use of cameras, GPS and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
