Job Summary

Provides operational maintenance for all areas of the Mother House Campus and related properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responds to daily work orders and handles unexpected situations on a daily basis.
  • Provides basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance services.
  • Installing carpet, flooring, and wall tile, helpful.
  • Provides furniture repair and refinishing, helpful.
  • Transport and rearrange furniture and work equipment.
  • Helps with snow removal.
  • Knowledge of pool and spa maintenance is preferred.
  • Pick-up supplies, pick-up trash, and make trips to landfill when necessary.
  • On-call on a rotating schedule.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be age 18 or older.
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • General building maintenance experience preferred.
  • Able to work independently but with a team as jobs require.
  • Ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment to do proper repairs.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
Physical Requirements
  • Job requires standing, climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, or reaching for extended periods.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Able to climb on ladders and equipment that are of considerable height.
  • Foot-Hand-Eye coordination for operating tools/equipment.
  • Occasionally requires the wearing of standard protective/safety gear.
Work Environment
  • May be exposed to hazardous work environments.
  • Required to enter spaces that may be damp, poorly lit, or poorly ventilated.
  • May encounter unpleasant fumes, odors, toxic chemicals, and fuels that could cause burns.
  • Potential exposure to high-temperatures, high-pressure systems, and high-speed rotating equipment.
  • Potential exposure to cutting, grinding, or welding operations that could cause burns or eye injuries.
  • Work may involve extreme temperature variations in all seasons.
