Position OverviewLilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for the production of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly’s largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the startup team for a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help build the processes and facility to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.
PositionBrand Description
The Low/High Voltage Electrician A / Instrumentation Technician has the responsibility of servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment in LTC utilities that includes high‑purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, and sewers. The role requires good customer service skills and ensures that utility equipment and buildings are maintained at all utility locations. The candidate is expected to assist craftspeople in multiple crafts.
KeyObjectives / Deliverables
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on 4160 and 480 V Electrical Equipment (Circuit Breakers, 13.8 kV Main Switch Gear, Motor Starters, Fuses, Ground Fault Interrupts).
- Perform preventive maintenance on complex Electrical Equipment (e.g., Motor Control Centers, Variable‑Speed Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment problems and make appropriate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Perform modifications and new installations of electrical equipment.
- Diagnose complex electrical problems to effect repairs and restore equipment/systems to operating condition.
- Install/replace complex electrical equipment (e.g., Motor Control Centers, Main Switch Gear).
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Process Instrumentation (Temperature, Pressure, Flow, and Automatic Control Valves).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose process instrumentation equipment problems and make appropriate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Perform modifications and new installations of process instrumentation.
- Demonstrate the ability to read P & and schematics.
- Consistently comply with safety rules and follow approved procedures to ensure cGMP compliance.
- Document all work following Good Documentation Practices.
- Proficiency with 480 V switch gear.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Post‑Offer exam.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis (no visa sponsorship).
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent electrical and/or instrumentation work experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and new installation of various instrumentation.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic electrical skills and ability to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits and equipment.
- Willingness to respond to call‑in and scheduled overtime work.
- Capability to lift up to 40 lb.
- Ability to withstand exposure to temperature variations while performing work outdoors in winter and summer conditions.
- Experience maintaining circuit breakers, medium‑voltage switch gear, motor starters, fuses.
- Ability to read P & and schematics.
- Experience with a CMMS (e.g., GMARS) or similar work order tracking system.
- Document work using good documentation practices (ALCOA+).
- Proficiency in basic use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
- Some shift work is required; temporary shift changes are possible.
