Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Growing manufacturer in the Lebanon, IN area is seeking an energetic, proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance department during an exciting phase of company growth. In this role, you will oversee a team of technicians, manage daily equipment repairs, and aggressively build out their Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to ensure maximum plant uptime. As they expand their production lines and introduce new automation, you will play a critical role in scaling the facility infrastructure, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and mentor a team of multi‑craft maintenance technicians across production shifts. Assign daily work orders and evaluate team performance.
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Own, execute, and continually optimize the plant's PM and Predictive Maintenance programs to minimize unscheduled downtime on high-speed production lines.
Emergency Repairs: Lead rapid-response troubleshooting and tactical repairs for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated (PLC) systems during production breakdowns.
Scaling & Installation: Support the engineering team with facility expansions, including the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new production equipment and utilities.
CMMS Management: Oversee the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, analyze equipment failure trends, and maintain an accurate spare parts inventory.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, National Electrical Code (NEC), and general plant safety guidelines.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors, equipment manufacturers, and parts suppliers to ensure high‑quality service and timely delivery of critical components.
Experience: 5+ years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership, team lead, or supervisory role.
Technical Skillset: Strong proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems (gearboxes, conveyors, pumps) and electrical systems (up to 480V, VFDs, and reading electrical schematics). Experience with PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) is highly preferred.
Growth Mindset: Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, implement structure in a rapidly evolving production environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Systems Knowledge: Experience utilizing a CMMS (e.g., eMaint, Fiix, UpKeep) to manage workflows and analyze machine data.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Production Supervisors, Plant Managers, and shift technicians.
