JFFC Custodian Part Time

Job Title

Performs responsible semiskilled custodial and building maintenance work in the care and cleaning of the Jimmy Floyd Center.

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

• Completes daily task sheet composed of but not limited to the tasks below.
• Washes windows, walls, woodwork and Venetian blinds. Keeps custodian closet in a clean and orderly manner.
• Keeps all equipment clean.
• Maintains the upkeep of facilities and premises. Cleans and supplies restrooms daily.
• Touches up paint on walls and clean if necessary.
• Cleans and picks up any trash on the grounds and parking lots including raking leaves, trim bushes and shovels snow (winter season).
• Vacuums, sweeps, damp and dust mop floors. Moves furniture, office equipment and boxes.
• Gathers and disposes of refuse.
• Painting and repairing equipment, etc.
• Operates light equipment when necessary.
• Maintains appearance of Jimmy Floyd grounds and facilities.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.

Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.

This medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, reaching, walking, pushing, lifting, and grasping, vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken work levels;

visual acuity is required for operations of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. It shall be the responsibility of the City of Lebanon JFFC Director to assess the type(s) of reasonable accommodations which may be necessary to allow the individual to perform the essential functions of this role and to provide such necessary reasonable accommodations to a qualified individual with a disability, provided that nothing herein shall be construed to require the provision of reasonable accommodations if doing so will impose an undue hardship on the employing agency or a direct threat to the safety of himself/herself or others.
