Ledyard Public Schools is looking to hire a dependable, skilled custodian. The ability to follow written and oral instructions while relating to students, staff and public in a courteous manner is required, and experience with building cleaning, routine maintenance and groundskeeping is preferred.
Position Requirements- Knowledge and demonstrated skills related to daily cleaning and building maintenance; including but not limited to operation of floor and restroom cleaning machines, waxing and stripping of floors and general cleaning and disinfecting.
- Previous experience in custodial routines and procedures preferred.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Demonstrated record of reliable performance and attendance.
- Ability to lift and carry objects of 25-50 lbs.
- Hours Monday/Tuesday through Friday/Saturday, may include nights.
- 403(b) and 457 retirement plan with employer match.
- Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks.
- Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders.
- Push/pull items such as tables, stacked chairs, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipment.
