ENV SVCS WKR​/HOUSEKEEPER

Responsibilities

Cleans and services facility areas to ensure the safety, health, and morale of patients, visitors, and employees. Maintains a clean, attractive, and safe environment with minimal interference to others.

• Sweeps and mops floors; completes special assignments such as buffing, stripping and refinishing floors.
• Maintains carpets via vacuuming, spot cleaning and shampooing as assigned.
• Cleans and polishes metal, glass, and enamel fixtures; replaces disposables such as paper towels, soap and tissue.
• Collects and transports refuse and relines containers; maintains cleanliness of containers.
• Cleans tops of windows, door frames, and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
• Disinfects and cleans discharged beds as part of the cleaning process.
• Completes job assignments as directed by supervisor; works quietly to avoid disturbing staff or patients.
• Ensures work is neat, accurate, and thorough (e.g., mop buckets emptied and cleaned; carts cleaned).
• Shows initiative in situations requiring action (e.g., dust mopping floors when needed).
• Keeps carts and equipment clean and ready for use; maintains an orderly supply room.

• Graduate of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of standard housekeeping practices, techniques, equipment and supplies.
• Sufficient physical strength to perform assigned tasks.
• Some experience in housekeeping and custodial work is desirable but not required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
